Sky Archery comes back to Europe

Bearpaw zu Besuch bei Sky Archery

On November the 7th and 8th Henry Bodnik visited Jim Belcher von Sky Archery in Michigan, US. Jim has gained highly respect in the world archery for many years because of his extreme powerful, beautifully and very relaible bows. Already a couple of weeks ago Christoph Unger from Bearpaw visited Jim. Chris worked together with Jim some days making several of bows in his shop. With that Chris gained very valuable experience in the way American bowers are building and designing bows.

Henry was impressed from the nice bows which Jim Belcher is making. Particular the ILF Bow (International Limb Fitting) System; this can be used in combination with Sky Bows for the traditional market in Europe and could play there a very good role.

Sky Archery was founded in the early 80s from Earl Hoyt, after he sold his company “Hoyt” to Easton. The bows from Sky Archery were well known in whole Europe and had been sold through many distributors and Dealers. As Earl died, being almost 90 years old, his spouse sold the company Sky Archery to Matthews. With that his Sky bows disappeared from European Market. But because the main business of Matthews is settled in the compound bow area the company Sky Archery was sold again but this time to Jim Belcher from Belcher Bows.

Bearpaw Products with Henry Bodnik schedules now to bring back these Sky bows to Europe and wants to revitalize this famous brand here again with might. It is scheduled to present the brand in the new Bearpaw Catalogue appropriately.
