Sustainability is very important to Henry Bodnik, not only professionally while at work but also personally when the work day is over. Accordingly he and his children founded the “Generations Project”. The company founder and president of Bearpaw Products purchased a forest that is 1 hectares (approx.2.5 acres) in size and it is located right behind the company’s headquarters in Rossach.
He purchased it for two reasons. One reason was to provide an affordable place for archery fans to practice with over 50 3D targets in realistic conditions. And the other reason, which is just as important, was to free this forest from the bark beetles that have infested many of the trees and to conduct reforestation after the trees that have been affected by the beetles have been removed. The children are learning a great deal about the forest and nature.
On the weekend I was also helping out and while I was there I also took some pictures and made a short film of Henry, Tim and Tom at work on their project.
